NORTHFIELD ECOCENTRE EDUCATION BRIEF

Key Stage 2 (Ages 7 – 11 years)

Northfield Ecocentre offers workshops to local school children to:

  •     Develop understanding of our relationship with & impact on the environment & our planet
  •    Discover ways to live more sustainably
  •     Understand climate change & its causes
  •     Empower children to take positive action & to encourage others to take positive action
  •     Enjoy discovering & experimenting in an external setting
  •     Work towards KS2 cross curriculum skills including Education for Sustainable Development

The workshops will provide a carousel of activities covering key skills across the curriculum including:

  •     Communication
  •     Application of number
  •      Working with others
  •      Problem solving
  •     Thinking skills (Reasoning, enquiry & creative thinking)

Sessions will generally last for 2 – 3 hours & will be held at Northfield Ecocentre.
